I just sat there in a daze for a minute. Then, I snapped out of it, grabbed the camera and ran out the door. I couldn't believe my eyes. Something so small that I had to have seen before but never even noticed. Or maybe they just bloomed...but they had to have been there for a little while.
I like to take my pictures for the shop in natural light...so I usually go out in the backyard. I usually go to our Adirondack chairs in the corner of our small yard because I like the weathered look of the chairs and can sometimes use them for the background. Anyway, we don't have flowers in the back yard anymore because we have a couple of naughty pups that won't let them live. I used to love to plant daisy's out around the tree but that was short lived.
Anyway, seeing these beautiful pink flowers in the backyard brought a smile to my face and I must've had perma-grin for at least an hour. You see, these pink flowers had snuck through the fence from my neighbors whimsical yard. And it wasn't only this bunch, there were several others! And they are just high enough that the dogs can't pee on them and kill them, tee hee.
I was so pleased & in such a good mood...I got a sudden jolt of inspiration and came in to create a couple of pages in my art journal and even created a few new cards for the shop. I haven't made cards in a while...but for some reason, those flowers made me want to paint pink polka dots on whatever I could get my hands on, tee hee.
Here's a little peek into my journal for the day...
...pink painted cheeks, lots of oil pastels, ink, and even a yellow glittered crown! I'll try and show you the cards I painted tomorrow. I've got so much stuff to add to the shop, but it seems like every time I sit down to do it, the time goes so fast and then it's too late to post it. I gotta work on that :)
I know this has nothing to do with pink flowers & polka dots, but I'm listening to 'You Found me,' by The Fray right now & thought I'd share because it's such a lovely song.
Now, back to my polka dots and glitter ;-)
Jamie :)

How wonderific that art journal looks from here! But you'll have to hold it up and show it to me, cuz as great as it looks from here, I can't seem to turn the pages!
Yay for flowers finding their way to you, who not only appreciated their exquisite beauty, but documented and shared it as well!
I try hard to remember to watch out for the little things... :) xoxoxRhonda roo
