Have you ever seen an Angel with wings as pretty as this?
If you can believe it, they originally belonged to a dog named Coconut (but I don't think he's ever getting them back ;)
You know, Candy Cakes loves to play dress up! And sometimes she gets really attached to something and wears it for days...weeks...months at a time. I think we all do that a little, right?
I've been doing that for over a year now with several pairs of earrings I got from Polka Dot Moon on Etsy. Here is the latest necklace I looooove from her shop...
I used to wear a lot of silver from Tiffany & Co., but now I love my handmade earrings so much, I chose to wear those instead, on almost a daily basis :)
There is something about wearing a piece of jewelry (or clothing, or anything for that matter) that someone put their creativeness and hard work into. Not, that the designers for Tiffany's don't...but you see what I'm saying.
I've gotten so many complements on my handmade earrings and items, and I just love to brag about the shops I get them from, tee hee...or to say, 'thanks, I made it!'
Handmade jewelry is usually a little easier on our wallet too ;) For Mother's day, I asked for this beautiful ring from Lisa Leonard Designs! (Honey, if you are reading this...don't wait too late since it needs to be personalized ;) See, a little subtle hinting through my blog can be a good thing, tee hee.
I don't really know where I am going with this!?! I guess, for me, I've learned that more expensive does not mean better. I really enjoy things made with love. Supporting local (and non-local) artists and crafters is important to me too.
And I'm thinking Candy Cakes is feeling a bit left out right now. This post was supposed to be about her and her angel wings, and how she wears them every day from sun up to sun down. But, as usual my brain starts to wonder and I end up with some gibberish for you ;)
So here ya go Candy...
...we didn't forget about your spotlight ;)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend...I know I will! Relaxing with my family is at the top of my list!
