A Forest Frolic

Fawns, Shoes & Waffles, oh my...

It's my Birthday, so I'm doing what I want to do today :)

I woke up, fed the kiddos, showered, got back in my PJ's, and have been crafting all day!

I made a big crib blanket for the soon-to-be new babe over the weekend, so I made some burp cloths to match (not that they needed to match but I had fabric left over ;)  I'll have to share it with you after I get it out of the washer and dryer.

I ordered these fawn cabachons last week and they came yesterday, so I made these darling fabric embellishments for the shop...

We've been doing a little back-to-school shopping too, since my girls start back next week.  Our first born 'baby' starts middle school and I have mixed feelings about it.  I'm not ready for them to really 'grow up,' ya know?  But I think she'll really love it and do well with the transition.

You know my girls seem to have crazy shoe syndrome, like last year, and this year hasn't changed (wait 'til you see my oldests shoes)...

Saturday morning, I woke up early, hopped in the shower because softball season is upon us, and we had an early morning practice.  As I went into the bedroom to get dressed, this is what I found...

The mister and my sweetie pies had made me homemade waffles, fresh strawberries and a slice of maple syrup bacon with OJ on the side...yum!  It's not too often that this Mama gets to enjoy a breakfast in bed...so I threw on some clothes and dove in!  Early birthday breakfast...now that's what I'm talking about. 

Tonight, they are taking me out to a delicious dinner and I can't wait!  Love that family of mine.

Paint Maniacs & a Winner

My girls have been painting like maniacs the last few days and I love what they are creating (the blue plaid apron was my Me-Maw's and she made it...awwww, miss that lady so much)!

They are very fond of their new glitter glue too :) 

I had a little scare last week and spent a day in the hospital in pain.  The good news is that the baby is fine and I am feeling much better...whew!  Anyway, they had just run out of glitter glue so I took them to get a whole new BIG pack of all the colors you could imagine...for being so patient and good at the hospital and for helping out so much with dishes, the dog, etc. last week.  What sweetie's!

We also took a little trip to Color Me Mine, a local pottery painting place that the kids adore.  They painted a huge cupcake shaped cookie jar and wee one chose a girl gnome, to go with the  other gnome we have in our parlor, tee hee.

My M-I-L surprised me with this little button maker from Epiphany crafts and I've had fun making buttons for our upcoming scrapfest...

So, that's a bit of what we've been up to lately.
