I wanted to share a few Etsy Treasuries with you, that I've put together so far in 2014! I'm having so much find scouring Etsy for unique handmade items...I just can't stop (this could be bad, but oh so good ;)
Just click on the Treasury to be taken to the real deal, where you can click on each individual item to heart, drool over, share with your friends on Facebook or Twitter.
Have fun now...and don't let that Christmas cash burn a hole in your pocket!!
I thought this was a really neat little clip of a fellow Etsy shop owner at work...
Shopping handmade with local, small businesses is one of my favorite things to do...especially during the holiday season. There is something really special about giving or receiving a handmade gift, whether it be made by you, or by a local artisan. There is always a story behind each piece and I love knowing that no one else will have the exact same item!
Just head on over and 'like' my Facebook page, then leave a little love in the giveaway post to be entered. If you tweet my facebook page or share it on FB, leave a comment for each (for up to 3 chances to win). Thanks you guys...you are rockstars!
Last night, I was in the studio...trying to come up with shop ideas for Christmas, but instead I made this banner for our home...
Sometimes I can't control where the inspiration takes me ;) No worries though, I do have some new Christmas products in the works and coming soon to my Etsy shop!
Anyway, I think the putz banner looks just perfect under the lights in our kitchen window. I purchased the template from Pink Pearl Studio on Etsy (she has many more too), then glittered it up with a mixture of glitter, crystal, snow, gold and silver, then added some silver tinsel to hang it.
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING and get in lots of family time and even some creative time at some point this weekend! Check out Pink Pearl and snag a banner template if you need an idea ;) They are super simple to put together and you can decorate them any way you want to make it uniquely yours.
Yes, yes, yes, my Mums friend Jody WON the ReMarthable contest & the beautiful custom BMW! I just love watching the video clip of her reaction when Martha announced her name...it brings happy tears to my eyes.
This is the needle felted Koala that she showed how to make on Martha Stewart. Click here for the video tutorial.
Anyone who loves Martha Stewart knows that she's been accepting ideas for the 'ReMarthable Contest.' Nope...I'm not a finalist, but my Mums good friend and craft group buddy, Jody Lunsford, is! She's one of the 5 flying to New York in a little over a week to appear on the Martha show and she's got a 1 in 5 chance to win a suped-up BMW, yippee!
Now, I've got a favor to ask of you. Would you please CLICK HERE TO VOTE for her adorable needle felted creations on Martha's website...
I can speak first hand that her creations are wonderful! My Mum asked her to make my girls a few felted balls and they are in our nature bowl right when you walk in the door. It's the first thing kids go for when they come in the house and I don't mind them being thrown around the house, so the kids love them even more ;)
I met Jody at a craft show last year and talked to her for a while about her needle felted animals and I'm amazed at how awesome they all are...so detailed that they almost look real!
I've given needle felting a shot and I like it, but boy, you need lots of patience...these creations take many, many hours and skill to make. This is Jody's passion and she totally deserves this recognition (and the BMW would be nice too, tee hee).
There is also a write up here on Roanoke.com about how she got selected. I'm so excited for her and hope that you'll go check out her creations and show her some love too.
Ms. Vanessa over at 'A Fanciful Twist,' is such a dear friend, always ready and willing to help a girl in need ;-) She's worked her magic to whip together the lovely banner you see here & she's quite the inspiration in all that she does!
