If there's one thing that gets my inspirational juices flowing, it's color...
...BRIGHT color...and lots of it!
I was in a little artful heaven while in San Diego :) These were both taken while I was touring around with Julie; the first at a market in Old Town and this colorful brick path that connected some art shops at Balboa Park...
I fell in love with the Dia de los Muertos Papel Picado banners and had to have one! Julie helped me find the perfect one in perfect colors that made me smile and I snagged it up right away (since it was the last one). My daughter helped me hang it in the studio and it looks so pretty (I'll be sharing pictures with you once everything is complete ;)
I really wanted a banner made out of thin plastic too, so I could use it outdoors, but I ended up having to make a second trip back to Old Town before we left, because they were out the first day. Thank goodness I found one and can't wait to use it at our next BBQ.
I have so many more pictures I want to share from our trip to California, I just need to make time to upload and edit them...aaahh, the lovely 'honey do' list, tee hee ;)
I will say this. My husband and I agreed...if we didn't have children, family close by, and hadn't just bought a new house...we would totally be moving to San Diego :) It was such a wonderful place.
What inspires you to get creative? Or what place have you been that you loved so much, you could make it home?
Jamie :)
These colors are so inspiring!

Firstly love love love paper picados! A friend of mine in Miami, when i was growing up, had them strung in her entryway and i always thought they were the COOLEST people!
Those bricks are beyond funkadelic. Awesome! I cant wait to see your studio!!
OK Cowboy & I tend to dream big-we want a townhome on one of the squares in savannah, a cabin in the rockies, a small cottage in st augustine, and a big ol farm (organic) /antiques barn / victorian farmhouse...anywhere it doesnt get over 100 degrees more than one week....yeah. :-)
But we love our little coon bottom chateau just as much!!

Gorgeous! I love those and those paper star lights with the cutouts. (Know what I am talking about?) I always see those all over California.

Gorgeous photos - such vivid colors. So happy you had a great time! My favorite place to be is the Portland Head Light - just outside of Portland, Maine. If I could choose to live anywhere, Portland is where it would be. So clean and laid back and artsy. Just the right atmosphere for me. Plus, I'd get to walk along the waterfront every day...how great would that be? Theresa
