...in their new little studio nook...
The girls have been working on hand puppets for our puppet theater...
They colored them with fabric markers and then chose from vintage lace, ric-rac, and pom-poms for mommy to sew. Then they glued on some fabric from our scrap stash to the bunny and monkey ears. We even made a pom pom with yarn and hand sewed it on the bunny foo-foo bum.
Baby girl really enjoyed this project and has been having fun playing with them behind the theater curtain...
I love the red silky monkey ears (which is hard to see from the picture) and the red button nose...
Not sure what's going on with the horsey? It kinda looks like he's got purple snot coming out of his nose, tee hee...
But, purple snot and all...this project is simple, fun, and the kiddos loved it! And it's something we can keep for a long time and actually get good use out of. I wrote inside the puppets, which child made it, the month, and year. So 10 years from now...they can look back and remember making them together and smile at the fun shows we put on.
What's been your favorite summer project...kiddos included, or not?
Jamie :)
What fun! A puppet theater! That is a great way to instill imagination. Maybe my favorite summer activity has been fruit picking, so that I could create preserves and cobblers and other sorts of yummies. I hope you had a wonderful birthday! Theresa :)
