We love camping at Jellystone Park because there's so much for the kiddos to do.
Like bounce on a huge pillow or two...
...and roast hot dogs and s'mores over the campfire...
...or tie-dye t-shirts...
...and play putt-putt...
...what? That sweet baby couldn't possibly have thrown rocks at the passerby's ;)
We had a blast just like last weekend, but this time we used a bigger tent...
We forgot that we didn't pack the rain fly with the tent last time we used it, then we moved and 'misplaced' it. But of course we didn't realize it until we got to the campground. So, you see, being the 'wing it' type of people that we are, we decided we'd be fine since it wasn't supposed to rain until Sunday evening. And this is where the funny part comes in ;)
5am ~ Sunday morning, I feel rain on my face and the hubs starts whispering to me that it's raining. So we hop up and grab all three girls and load them in the truck. Then we laughed hysterically as we packed up camp and took down the tent in the rainy darkness. We made it home safely and now have a big tent and a bunch of sleeping bags airing out in the basement.
If we had our rain fly, we would have toughed it out and probably slept better with the noise, tee hee. I must have been exhausted because I got a good 12 hours of sleep last night (which may happen once a year).
Fun times I tell ya...fun times!
Jamie :)
My kids would LOVE to go camping with Yogi Bear! What a fun time!!!

Jamiekins, you are one of the most wonderful, fun loving, delightful Mamas ever!!
I mean, I don't think I would be giggling in the dark packing it up. But you... oh you....you are all the bright colors flickering in the rainbow through the rain. Yes you are...
Love, V

Your funny story reminds me of that commercial where the young couple just got married and he surprises her with a romantic tent set with flowers and champagne and then it starts pouring and the tent collapses...well, they end up in the car too, but i like your story better. :)
That picture of baby is priceless! Jumpy girls too! :)

Wow-- great pictures!!
Looks like you guys had a ton of fun stuff to do. Rock-throwing makes any toddler's Top Ten list. ;)
Ah, the Great Rain-Out. We've had some of those. Just makes the trip even more memorable, right?

So much fun~except for the rain. What a great time for you. These are the memories your kids will have forever. We love doing family trips but haven't camped in a tent in years.

12 hours!! whoa. Yep, about once a year. Good for you! What a fun, and adventurous, little trip :) "Winging it" can be so much fun, and I think it's always fun for the kids that way. Wonderful photos as always!
