We took a little trip oh so long ago, to a fun land called Venice Beach! I think I was in shock for most of the day, mainly because there were places you could get 'Medical Kush,' but also because people had the 'anything goes' attitude (which I think is nice...for the most part ;)
Speaking of anything goes, I am posting my hubs pic from that day here on the blog, for THE FIRST TIME EVER!! Shhh, don't tell him (he's just too cute to keep all to myself anymore)...
Outside of seeing the gym on 'muscle beach,' my favorite part of Venice was seeing the graffiti artists amazing work...
...and listening to street music and just simply being entertained...
What a fun way to spend your day, creating art on public walls (that are designated for this of course)...
I like the colors and how this one just flows...
I chatted with this guy for a few minutes to get the low down on how this works. He said you just have to get a little permit to paint here, only takes a second. The thing that would kill me is knowing that someone could come along the next day and just create more art right on top of yours, covering it up forever!
Which I guess is cool if you really think about it, knowing that there are tons of masterpeices under the one you are creating. I'd have to make sure to bring my camera to take a pic before that happens though.
I don't know how the artists get up to the top of this, but somehow they managed...
I loved this wall, with the bright colors and these cool characters...
...and the pig...
I thought this was interesting, wonder what it's made with? I've seen a similar painting on the street in D.C. but I couldn't find the link where I posted it...
You know I like me some banners ;) ...
...and the ocean was quite nice too...
Have you ever been to Venice, or a place like this, where it's such a different world than what you live in?
Jamie :)
I'm so gonna tell your hubby! Ha! Love the pics Cuz. Miss ya!

Oh I went there once with a friend to get her daughter a tat for her 18th birthday. My friend being a nurse and NOT being able to talk her daughter out of it, decided to make sure the "parlor" was licensed and clean. We met the most interesting people with ear lobes that were stretched to their shoulders (eeewwwwwww)!!!! Venice Beach is definitely a different world even thou it's only an hour away ;-). Looks like you had fun, but who wouldn't have fun with such a cute hubby ;-))).
