Color Splash

We went on a little mall excursion last week!  Something I don't do nearly as often as life before kids.  I'm not a big J. Crew frequenter either, but when I saw the window display from upstairs, I knew I had to make a visit.

The colors are so eye catching and the paper rounds, ooooh...I was in awe for sure!

Brightly colored and glittery eggs, just in time for Easter, I knew I had to pull out the camera.

Everything was super bright...neon even.  Maybe that's the in-thing for Spring.  I'm loving that and speant at least half an hour in there perusing and trying things on.  I only left with a shirt, but there were some orange capri's I didn't think I could pry myself away from.

The jewely was even amazing and those bangles are oh so yummy...

I was feeling very inspired and had lots of creative energy after our J. Crew visit!  Could be this awesome, sunny weather we've been having for the last week too, but the colors were definitely a boost.  Love bright colors!!

Moooooon Boots!

This girl has her own style and doesn't care what people think about it...

I resisted letting her get these, but we finally decided that if she thought about it (she first saw these in November while out Christmas shopping at Nordstrom), and she saved up and paid with her own money, she could.  She thought...she thought...and she thought. 

She did her research and finally found them a bit cheaper on Zappos.  She clicked the button, and three days later they arrived!  She immediately put them on when she got home from school (squeals and all), and if I'm not mistaken, she hasn't taken them off since.  I'm pretty sure she showered and slept in them too ;)

I am so proud of her...my independent girl, that is her own person and doesn't let anyone tell her any different (even me...no, really...she doesn't listen to me either ;)!

And they're off...

...to their first day of school.  Wearing their cool new shoes...

...and their cool new attitudes.  Ms. 4th grader is too cool to kiss mommy before she gets on the bus, yet doesn't forget to turn and wave with a big smile right before she gets on :)

And Ms. Kindergartner is so excited, she almost forgets to say 'good-bye' before she runs as fast as she can to the door of the bus when it pulls up.  She has been waiting for this moment forever and is finally glad it's here (hopefully she'll still be as enthusiastic getting off the bus too).

Baby has her book-bag packed (with a family picture) and is waiting patiently for the bus.  She really thinks she is getting on with her sisters, which makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time (because it won't be long)...

So, right now, the two of us are a bit lost, and are sticking stickers all over the wood floor to keep ourselves entertained.  I think we are going to run some errands to keep our minds off of our girls being away (as if I don't have a million things around here I could be doing).

I took the holiday weekend 'off' and hosted our families 10th annual 'Scrapfest!'  We had lots of scrap-booking, memory sharing, and yummy treats...a fun time for all involved!  I just can't believe it's September already and school is back in session...although I'm enjoying the cool mornings where I can sit on the porch for a bit.  I love fall and this time of year, but honestly...where does the time go?

We just loved this guy and all of his funky jewelry, and you know we can't resist a good scarf...

I started chatting it up with a sweet lady in this room.  We were both feeling all of the soft quilts and ooohing and aaahing about how wonderful it would be if our bedrooms were more like this...

We almost bought this table to replace our kitchen table (we need a 6 seater now because baby girl thinks she's too big to be in a high chair).  But then we thought about it and decided we should go for a wider farm style table...

 

And well, anything with Frida...do I have to explain...

I loved this doll...I loved the cute, yet creepy feel she had...

The rug in this room...yum, although you can barely see it here (and the duck ain't too shabby, tee hee)...

 

Loved this bike with it's zebra print seat and bright flowers, oh my...
