Sweet Tooth

Yes, I admit it...I have a sweet tooth!  And when I can't have the real thing, I want to look at pictures of the real thing ;)

I recently discovered the most inspiring and beautiful baking blog ever, Sweetapolita!  Rosie is the creator of all this sweetness and is super sweet herself.

6 layers!!  Really...

...I'm drooling as I write this.

And homemade peppermint patties, oh my (look at those pastels)...

I'm having some ladies over tonight for sweets and wine and oh how I wish I could have commissioned Rosie to make the desserts for us (and of course I would have invited her too ;)  But I think Canada is a bit too far to pick up cake!

She even makes cake that looks healthy, asparagus anyone...

'Wonderfully Woodland' Etsy Front Page Feature

Well, this is some wonderful news!  My friend, Theresa, e-mailed this morning, congratulating me on my 'Glitter Fawn Moleskine Journal' making it to the front page of Etsy...

I am over-the-moon excited!

As if having a visit with my bestest friend since 2nd grade (and her adorable little boy), and going to my favorite past-time coffee shop, Mill Mountain Coffee, wasn't enough...I come home to find this :)

Matryoshka Nesting Dolls

I have been obsessed with Matryoshka Dolls lately!  So when I saw gift wrap at Paper Source over the weekend, I immediately knew that I had to have it.  Not to wrap a present, but to make something with it of course...

 

So I came up with these cards, and stuck a set in the shop.

I distress inked the white cardstock in 'Broken China,' glimmer misted the doily's in 'Pink Bubblegum', hand cut the dolls, and sewed them to the cards to add a bit of texture...

And here is a set of tags I made with a set of Hero Arts stamps, also in the shop...

I've significantly lowered the price of many things in MY SHOP too, to make room for some new items...so go check it out if you can!
